Fort Myers Beach Cottage

This project involved a quintessential cottage located on Fort Myers Beach. The clients experienced multiple flooding events from the recent storms and opted to elevate their home. We elevated it, built a new foundation underneath it, and set the home back down on the new foundation. The property now has a functional, open-air ground floor for parking or storage, which also allows floodwaters to flow underneath without causing damage. Elevating a home is an option rather than tearing down an existing home — the home is lifted and set on a modern foundation to extend its lifespan.
