Elevating Above the Flood Line

Our clients loved the floor plan of their 1960’s era single family home on Fort Myers Beach. They contracted with Bonita Builders to elevate their existing home above the flood line. We built a new foundation underneath it. They are now enjoying their remodeled home, which is about 10 feet higher than before. They are now safe from future flooding concerns because the living space is well above the predicted flood levels (Base Flood Elevation + Freeboard), thereby minimizing or eliminating water entering the home during storm surges. The homeowners will now avoid the immense, repetitive costs of repairing water-damaged walls, flooring, and electrical systems, saving quite a bit in long-term maintenance. The space underneath is not wasted; since it can be used for parking, storage, or covered outdoor entertainment areas.
